Amber Mellor

Head of Film Production
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

My name is Amber Mellor. I’m over the film studio here and run all the film production with editing, shooting and everything having to do with making films.

Apparently Ron made this accusation that, you know, we always operate from a ridiculous release date—you know, deadlines from Chairman of the Board. And the ridiculous thing about that is, every movie studio in the world has a release date. If you’re going to come out with a film, there’s a date. It has to go into the movie theaters, it has to go everywhere, there’s big premieres. So, just like that, we have the same thing. There’s events, they get released, there’s things that happen. And the other thing that’s really ridiculous about it is, he never worked on it. He wasn’t shooting it, he wasn’t scripting it. I never even saw him. So for him to say such a thing, I don’t even know what he’s talking about, because he never had that pressure, he was not making the movie, he was not scoring it and not making any decisions. So, it’s kind of really ridiculous.

Chairman of the Board always is operating on a deadline. He has to go to a show, he opens an organization, he is at international events for the Church. He’s a very, very busy man. So if there’s a deadline, a lot of the pressure and work is done by him himself. So if there’s a… if there’s some date or something that has to happen, that’s predominantly on him. So anyone saying that he gives unreasonable deadlines, well, I would say it’s quite the opposite. He is given unreasonable deadlines based on how much work he does on every given day and how much he has to weigh and have on his shoulders.

So, I’ve known Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center since actually I was about six years old. And I’ve worked in many different facilities with him, from—I was… met him in… in England, where I am from. I met him when I was at the Flag org… organization in… in Clearwater. Also at the Freewinds, our religious retreat, and also working with him here. And I’ve never met somebody that so much inspires you to do well and always knows that you can do it—which makes you… you know, put… puts more confidence in yourself. And he compliments you every step of the way. I’ve never met somebody that, when you do something so well, you get a card or thank you or v… you know, “very well done.” And you always feel so proud.

And, you know, one time I remember, I was kind of like, oh okay, how’s this—we’ve got to do something, and he was like, “Hey, Amber, I know you can do it.” And it… and it just makes you feel much more inspired and knowing that you can absolutely do it, because of who he is. And him saying that you can do it, you always go, “Of course I can.”

So, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center knows my dad, my brother, my mother, actually my whole family. So when he used go to UK, and sometimes then I would see him later when he came back to the US, he’d always go, “Oh, I saw your brother,” or, “Hey, you know, I saw your dad, he’s doing good.” And I don’t think there’s anyone that—he remembers all of it, even. Like, you know, I think he met my brother when he was little and he’s like, “Hey, I saw your brother, he wrote to me,” or something like this. And it’s… there’s just someone that has so—like, remembers everything, firstly. Like, that’s my brother or that’s my dad.

And then always goes out of his way to, “Hey, I saw them, they’re doing great. I told them how you were doing,” or something like that. And it was just—I don’t think there’s anyone like that, that, you know—you’re kind of like, “oh, okay, great, awesome.” And I’m just like, wow! And then sometimes my dad would be like, “Oh, I saw Chairman of the Board when he was in England. And, you know, he… you know, he was like, ‘Hey’ and he asked me how I was doing.” And same with my brother.

And then my brother has these photos with him when he was younger. So, you know, he wants—he sent me one and he wanted me to know, and all this kind of stuff. So it’s just, it’s a lot of care, for someone who’s over the… you know, our religion. There’s a lot of people. And the fact that he remembers my brother and my dad, and goes out of his way to speak to them and then mention it to me whenever he sees me, when he had seen them—it was just like… I don’t know, I don’t… I don’t think you find people like that anywhere.

Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board—he’s put in the… there’s all the lines for how you make films. There’s exact LRH tech on those, and he’s made sure it’s all been implemented. All the—we have the best sound lines, the best editing lines, the best… we have our own film lab. He’s set up all of this so it’s exactly how LRH had envisioned. And everything, and all the… the technology that was laid out for this that is very unique that we have, and he’s implemented it all. So it’s a very, very smooth operation.

Like all the studio you see here—all of this, he has… he has put this here so that we can make the films for LRH and for the rest of Scientology.
