We are the daughters of Ronald T. Miscavige. We wish to have nothing to do with him. Now or ever again. This is personal. Religion has nothing to do with it. Our father has engaged in a pattern of physical and emotional abuse against us and our late mother throughout our lives. He continually has hurt and betrayed us and allied himself with others who have betrayed us and attempted to hurt us and our families.
This is not rhetoric. These are facts. First, from our earliest memories, he beat our mother senseless, even before our very eyes, to the point where she had to flee to save her life. Second, even when we were small children, he beat us, whipped us with belt buckles, tied us up, and inflicted severe physical and emotional punishment for the slightest or imagined offenses. Third, he stood by while our oldest brother repeatedly raped us. He enabled and protected that son and even blamed us for his bestial acts. Fourth, he often abandoned us, albeit that was a relief from the torture we suffered at his hands.
Later in life, when he joined the Sea Org, we hoped that the spiritual life would help him to reform. When he left the Sea Org, we attempted to let him into our lives; we suggested he move to Florida to be near our families. He refused. We begged him at the least not to ally himself and live with our older brother, the rapist. Instead, he left and went to live with that brother. He then never attempted to explain or even to communicate with us - it was he who cut off communications because he knew how we felt about his betrayal. Several years later, out of the blue he suddenly appeared at our doorstop and demanded that we welcome him, despite the facts that he was staying with the ex· husband of one of us and had aligned himself with others, including Mike Rinder and Marty Rathbun, who had worked with a local lawyer to sue one of us (Denise) and her husband, as well as our Church, for conspiracy to murder! That case was thrown out of court with a warning that there were no facts to support it and that it was subject to sanctions.
Finally, our father's open alliance with a group who have dedicated their lives to attacking our brother - the leader of our Church - in the most vile and false terms itself grossly offends us. We love our brother David deeply, and respect him as leader of our church immensely. How could we possibly betray our brother for a person like Ronald T. Miscavige?
We ask, what family would stand for this? What daughters would agree to have anything to do with such a monster? How dare anyone accuse us of acting inappropriately. We don't need anyone to tell us what to do or how to act. We know what is right and moral, and what is evil.
Evil is Ronald T. Miscavige. We reject him.
